Review
(June 2008) - Splash Mountain is a log flume ride in the Frontierland section of Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida.
We were able to get a Fastpass for Splash Mountain so we did not have to wait in line at all. The ride started with us traveling through some caves and the traditional disney theme ride experience with a difference scene for each section we traveled through.
The ride for the most part is very laid back, and the characters and animated scenes were a big part of the show. There was a surprise the first time we came out of the dark tunnels, as we were splashed with water from the people above that were plummeting down the big hill.
We entered into the darkness again and floated around, building up to the big drop. I believe the drop is over 50 feet, and was alot of fun going over the edge and hitting the bottom with the water splashing up!
Summary
We rode this one twice, and it was a nice way to cool down as it started getting hot outside. You will get plenty wet - and this is a great ride for the whole family to enjoy together. A nice mix of theme ride and thrill ride.
