Spaceship Earth

Review

Spaceship Earth(June 2008) - Spaceship Earth is located at Epcot as part of the Disney World park complex. Spaceship Earth is the big silver ball that is so famously featured on most photos you see of Epcot.

This is the first ride we rode at Epcot since it is located close to the entrance of the park. The wait time was only about 10 minutes. This ride was not a thrill ride at all, but somewhat of a history lesson and commentary on technology. We slowly climbed up towards the top and looked at different scenes and the evolution of technology.

When we reached the top, the cars rotated around and stars lit up, making it seem like you were outside on a clear night. Once we got around to the other side of the room the cars turned again and we started the decent back down going backwards. There was an interactive story where we answered some questions and then were shown our 'future world'. Our faces were displayed and a short video clip was played showing our responses as part of the movie, a neat and fun little show.

After the ride was over we exited out into Spaceship Earth Pavilion where there were lots of interactive games and displays.

Summary

This was our first ride at Disney World and Epcot, and got us excited about the theme ride experience. Not a thrill ride at all, but a fun journey through the rise of technology. Highly recommended!
