Soarin
- Park: Epcot
- FASTPASS? YES
Review
(June 2008) - Soarin is a ride where you 'glide' at 40 feet above the ground over various landscapes, with the wind in your hair.
We arrived late to Epcot and ended up waiting a little over 70 minutes in line since no fast passes were available that late in the day. While in line there were some large video screens that had interactive games and displays for the people waiting below. Once we finally got to the end of the line we were directed to sit on of the large gliders, that seats five people.
With everyone loaded, all of the gliders raised up into the air and the ride began. A large screen in front of us showed different scenes, like flying over the ocean, mountains, etc. The glider moved and swayed to give the feeling that you were really flying and there was even some wind effects and smells to tease your senses a little bit.
Summary
The ride didn't last as long as we had hoped for, and the way the scenes were spliced together made the ride less enjoyable. It was fun, but a bit dissapointing for the more than hour long wait that we endured. If you can get a Fastpass it is definitely worth checking out.
